Exelon PowerLabs Trailer

Exelon PowerLabs tests and calibrates lightning rods for large buildings and structures across the MidWest. When Exelon needed a trailer wrap, they originally requested a plain, electric-blue background behind their logo. I worked with Exelon to uncover their core desire that potential customers feel reassured, rather than frightened, by their service offering. With this in mind, I set out to design a clean, professional, and reassuring wrap that would also clearly and dynamically communicate Exelon’s core service offering.

While the final trailer appears to be a solid, reassuring shade of blue at a first glance, images of Exelon’s lightning-testing equipment serve as a faded background for the color, giving the trailer a sense of dimension. In addition, sparing yellow lightning bolts serve to both highlight the most important text and provide a subtle splash of secondary color.
